Peeling, or exfoliation (English peel - "peel", "peel off") in cosmetology - removal, exfoliation of the upper stratum corneum. The purpose of this cosmetic procedure is to improve the appearance of the skin by removing dead cells from the surface. Peeling appeared in ancient Egypt as one of the methods of skin cleansing. In the Middle Ages, wine was used as a chemical peel, and tartaric acid acted as an active agent. In Asia, peeling also began to be used during the Middle Ages, and the local practice of this procedure here is more than one hundred years.
