Pyruvic acid has a different effect on the epidermis and dermis: it reduces the cohesion of corneocytes and prevents the thickening of the stratum corneum. Exfoliation occurs without dryness, because in the skin the pyruvic acid turns into a milky with a strong moisturizing effect (forms a protective film that does not allow the skin to dry out). Due to its keratolytic, sebostatic and antimicrobial action is recommended to combat all forms of acne. Stimulates the synthesis of collagen, elastin and glycoprotein dermis, exerting a stronger effect than glycolic acid at a similar level.
