Arginine is an amino acid obtained by fermentation and purification of vegetable carbohydrates (sugar cane). The arginine molecule is large enough, so that penetration into the stratum corneum is slower, which helps prevent irritation. The combination with lactic acid provides all the benefits of alpha hydroxy acids (exfoliating property, activation of cellular regeneration, increased skin elasticity, reduced hyperpigmentation), without causing itching and burning.
